Neyers Vineyards

In 1999, Bruce and Barbara Neyers purchased and renovated a winery on a thirty-acre parcel in the Sage Canyon area of Napa Valley. Over the next 14 months they built the modern, highly functional winery designed for our traditional winemaking practices. They produced their first vintage in this state of the art facility in 2000. In 2002, Wine and Spirits Magazine named Neyers Vineyards the Artisan Winery of the Year.

Neyers Vineyards produces wine from grapes that are organically grown on their 40 acre ranch in Conn Valley and also from locations as diverse as the Sonoma Coast and Contra Costa County.  This small winery is nestled in the hills just above the Silverado Trail in Rutherford.

CHARDONNAY CARNEROS

Refined and refreshing, with lively green pear, apple and citrus flavors, powered by zesty acidity. Quince paste and dried savory notes show on the finish.

CHARDONNAY EL NOVILLERO

These lovely Chardonnay grapes are grown in a secluded spot 600 feet above the southwestern corner of the Carneros AVA.  The vines are on the crest of a dramatic slope, facing southeast in a natural amphitheater.  Chilly breezes come in from the nearby San Francisco Bay.  Great Chardonnay is grown here!

LEFT BANK RED

A smooth, silky dark blend – this Napa Valley blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot is balanced and easy to drink.

MOURVEDRE EVANGELHO VINEYARD

Mourvèdre is an exotic grape that thrives in warm weather and shows a range of flavors that grow increasingly complex and enjoyable over time.

PINOT NOIR ROBERTS ROAD

The correct soil, the proper climate, & the right plant material – All of these characteristics are in one Pinot Noir block of the Sangiacomo Family’s Roberts Road Vineyard, vines planted along the Petaluma River in southeastern Sonoma County. The soil is basalt, mixed with clay and gravel. The summer climate is almost inhospitably cold. The plant material is a direct descendant of vines grown in the heart of Burgundy.

Most importantly it’s planted to a ‘Selection Massale’ source that was brought to the US from Vosne-Romanee by Joe Swan in the early 60’s, so it hasn’t been heat-treated or cloned. This is especially important for Pinot Noir.

SAGE CANYON RED BLEND

The finished wine is bright and flavorful, with a fascinating combination of mineral and earthiness. The Carignan fruit is stylish, incorporating elements of wild cherry, plum and black fig, while the Grenache and Mourvèdre add exotic aromas of wild herbs and lavender.

ZINFANDEL VISTA LUNA

The wine is aged for a year in neutral French oak barrels, then bottled without fining or filtration. That combination of minerality coupled with freshly squeezed raspberry is irresistible, and makes a charming match for almost anything you can dream up in the kitchen.
